Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is having another productive season stat wise. Stafford has passed for 4,000 plus yards again this season, and even though his numbers are pretty good, his team’s success has taken a step back.
The Lions have taken a step back yes, but according to mlive.com, Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan thinks Stafford is on his way to being in the ranks of the Peyton Manning’s and Tom Brady.
Linehan thinks Stafford will be one of the best ever at his position.
“I don’t know where Peyton (Manning) was after four years, but I think Matt’s definitely on track to be one of the best quarterbacks to ever play this position,” Linehan said when asked to compare Stafford’s ability to read a defense to Manning. “We’ll see when it’s all said and done, but he’s really taken a lot on. We put a lot on him as well.”
Stafford has finally figured out how to remain healthy, but he has to continue to put up great numbers, and his teams have to start performing better to reach that comparison.
