Nick Foles broken hand means that the Philadelphia Eagles will once again be turning to Michael Vick to play quarterback for them. A move that they obviously hoped to avoid or Vick would have been starting since recovering from his concussion.
In a lost season and nothing else to play for, Vick is basically auditioning for teams this off-season as it is a virtual certainty that he and the Eagles will part way after this season.
With that on the line, Vick seemed extremely upbeat about the opportunity to get to start again.
“It’s a good opportunity for me to go out there and grow as a player. You never know what could come out of this game,” Vick said, via Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “You never know what I could learn. You never know what I could accomplish. I could go out there and break a record. There’s tremendous upside.”
One thing I do admire about Vick, is how he has handled this season. After having a terrible start and virtually being benched, he has remained positive and genuinely seems excited to get another opportunity.
Hope he finds a team willing to take a chance on him this off-season. I believe the man can still get it done.
