When the Green Bay Packers met the Seattle Seahawks during week 3 of Monday night football, one of the biggest debacles in sports took place.
A horrible call gave the Seahawks the win, as replacement refs claimed that Golden Tate caught a hail marry pass that was clearly caught by a Packers defensive back.
Apparently, this is a loss that is still haunting the Packers as they attempt to secure their playoff position.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers had this to say when asked whether or not the team is still talking about the play.
“How can you not?” quarterback Aaron Rodgers told ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike in the Morning, via ESPN.com.
“We’re all human here. That was obviously a difficult moment for us. We’re hoping that we’ve put yourself in a position right now where that’s not going to have an effect on things. We’re not going to use that as an excuse. We have four games left and everything is right in front of us, with a chance to win out, and not only be division champions[but also] also a potential first-round bye. But in some of those quiet moments, of course, you can’t help but think about it.”
You certainly have to understand Rodgers point of view, as the Packers should certainly be 9-3 at this point instead of 8-4.
But, one might think it would be best to focus on the road ahead and not the past. It is what it is at this point.
