Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith can relax…for now.  Per Mike Florio of NBC’s ProFootballTalk, sources have said that early reports indicate that the ankle injury suffered by Atlanta’s star defensive end in today’s 22-17 loss to Tampa Bay is not serious.

Mike Smith has been criticized by some for his decision to play all of his starters against the Bucs even though the game would not have any impact on the Falcons’ playoff seed.  In addition to Abraham, starting cornerback Dunta Robinson also left the game with an injury.  The Falcons will need both players in two weeks if they are going to break their playoff losing streak.
