The 2012 NFL regular season is quickly coming to a close for those not in the playoffs and on the outside looking in. For those teams, it means coaching changes, roster changes and turnover.
The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to make changes at head coach and quarterback. Michael Vick and Andy Reid were tied together, so all expectations are that both will be out of jobs at the end of the season.
NFL.com is reporting that sources close to Michael Vick say he would not consider joining the New York Jets if Mark Sanchez is still the starter.
Those same sources stated Vick would only sign with the Jets if he made more than Sanchez, signally that he was the main priority.
Vick wants to play but understands why he hasn’t played in several weeks.
“I’m a competitor, and I’ve always felt like and will continue to feel like I’m one of the best and can play at a high level … I want to be out there,” Vick said, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. “I want to play, but it’s just not the ideal situation right now.”
That same source Said Vick will take a look and see what current Oregon head coach Chip Kelly does. Vick is very curious to see how he would fare in Kelly’s high-octane spread offense.
