The New York Jets have an issue at quarterback, and it got a little more muddied after Mark Sanchez was benched Sunday for back Greg McElroy.

Rex Ryan reportedly will make a choice in the next day or so, but sources say if owner Woody Johnson has it his way, the team will roll with McElroy.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News tweeted out moments ago that his sources tell him Johnson prefers a fresh start.

Mehta is reporting that Rex Ryan met with different members of Jets brass yesterday to assess the situation, and make an informed decision.

Can we say internal dysfunction.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Greg McElroy is lightyears a better quarterback than Mark Sanchez. QBing isn’t all having a big arm—its more about what’s between the ears.
