Bounty Gate and the penalties that came with it our just about over. Saints head coach Sean Payton has about 2 months left of his season long suspension to go before he can start to communicate and help his team.
If you ask some of the New York Giants, Payton probably has been in constant communication with his Saints. According to a New York Times report, a few Giants don’t see how Payton wouldn’t be in communication with his team.
Giants punter Steve Weatherford: “Of course he will get his message to them somehow.”
“I’m not saying anything about Sean Payton as a person or anything, but I think any coach would do that. It’s not like he’s just going to sit at home and watch the games and not have any thoughts. His message will be heard.”
A Saints spokesman declined comment on the accusation.
The question is how would the league monitor Payton’s activity without tapping his phone or having security trail him.
An NFL spokesman also declined to elaborate on how the league would monitor Payton’s activity, only to say the league expects Sean Payton to adhere to the suspension and rules that come with it.
