Manny Pacquiao is two days removed from a humbling knockout at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez and seems to be handling it well.
Pacquiao was on a Good Morning America network broadcast in the Philippines Monday, and got so overwhelmed during the interview, that he and his wife Jinkee broke down in tears.
In the video courtesy of Larry Brown Sports via The Telegraph, Jinkee Pacquiao spoke about seeing her husband knocked out, and how she wishes for him to retire.
“When you see your husband get hurt, you cannot even sleep,” Jinkee said during the interview conducted while she and Manny remained in Las Vegas.
Jinkee was then asked if she would like her husband to retire from the sport of boxing.
“You know the answer to that. He knows what I am asking him.”
During the interview the Pacquiao’s were allowed to speak with their children via Skype, and one of his sons told Manny he didn’t’ want him to fight anymore.
Both husband and wife were emotional while speaking with their children, and Many got really emotional when speaking about letting his countrymen down.
“The low morale, the sadness, I accept that. This is my job…. But the reaction of the Filipinos, the many who cried, especially my family, it really hurts me,” Pacquiao said, per The Telegraph.
At the end of the interview Manny’s youngest daughter told her parents not to cry.
I can’t see Manny Pacquiao retiring after a defeat like that, and I expect him to fully insist on a Pacquiao vs Marquez 5.
