bso alex smith calls super bowl run bitter sweet

I understand it is a business, but the 49ers should do what is best for Alex Smith. This wasn’t a Drew Bledsoe situation where the team was 0-2, Bledsoe gets hurt for a long period of time and Brady came in and saved the day. Alex Smith was playing well, the 49ers were winning and he only missed one week.

He has been a model teammate throughout the entire situation, so if he wants to be released as oppose to being traded the 49ers should grant his request.

According to Pro Football Talk, the 49ers will have up to April 1st to make a decision, I hope they make the right one.
