Alicia Keys Says She Might Switch Up The National Anthem at Super Bowl

Picture 4 of 5

Everyone sings the National Anthem a little differently and Alicia Keys won’t be any different.  It was announced last week she would have the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.

It is the type of opportunity if done correctly, people will talk about for years.  Alicia gave her thoughts to Extra about singing the anthem and if she will add a little flavor to it.

“Extra’s” Jerry Penacoli caught up with Alicia Keys at Sundance, where the film she executive produced, “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete,” screened.

Next up, Alicia will be singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl- and from what she told Jerry, it is definitely something to tune in to.

Jerry congratulated Alicia on her upcoming appearance in New Orleans and Alicia said, “Wait till you hear this one.”  Jerry tried to get more details, asking, “You’re gonna switch it up?”  Alicia’s only response: “You’ll see.” When Jerry asked for a sneak peak,  all Alicia would say is, “I’m gonna do it in a way that only I can do.”

Tune in to ‘Extra’ Tonight’ (check local listings for stations and times) for the full interview.

  • Looks like they experienced a lot better results than the Occupiers. It is a fantastic idea. Let’s follow the Russians’ lead.

  • I do consider all the ideas you’ve introduced to your post. They are very convincing and will definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are too brief for starters. May you please extend them a bit from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
