Today the NFL announced its all pro team, and although it was great to see some guys get the recognition they deserve some guys got completely disrespected. It was good to see Marshawn Lynch get first team honors. He is a big reason Seattle is still fighting in the playoffs and stand a chance to make a real run. Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson, and J.J. Watt were forgone conclusions each tallying over 40 votes each.
But one guy I think could have been on there is ILB Luke Kuechly of the Carolina Panthers who led the entire NFL in tackles. Although the defense he played on wasn’t very good, he was a sideline to sideline every down backer for his team all season.
I also would like to have seen Arian Foster get on the second team. Foster had a great season and the Texans go as he goes. Jamaal Charles had stand out games, but he only scored 5 rushing touchdowns all season. I don’t think he deserved the nod over Foster. He had 6 games where he had 55 yards or less this season, but big games against The Saints and The Colts boost his stats a bit.
Eric Berry also was left off of the all pro team. He got voted to the Pro Bowl this year after recovering from a torn ACL last season. Berry has had a phenomenal year and should have been on there ahead of Eric Weddle or Jarius Byrd.
