As we reported on Monday Knicks owner James Dolan weirdly had huge hidden microphones at each of the Madison Square Garden court last Friday when his team took on the Bulls.
Yesterday amid news of the wire taps, Dolan said it was for Melo’s protection so he could show the league how much trash talk his star gets on a nightly basis.
As Melo arrived at the team hotel in London with his wife, he was asked about the wiretaps, and laughed them off. Anthony told the New York Post he had no idea such a thing had happened.
“I don’t care about the microphones, ‘’ Anthony told The Post in the hotel lobby. “I wasn’t aware of it. I found out on the plane [ride].
“I don’t think the mikes are going to stop what goes out on the court,’’ Anthony said. “But it was funny when I heard it. No, I wasn’t upset. Not at all.”
“I got an owner who looks out for me. You can’t beat that, an owner that protects his players.”
If Dolan truly was taping Melo to protect him and prove that other people antagonize him, I have no problem with that. Dolan just might be shocked by the trash he hears his start talk.
