Carmelo Anthony Says He Hasn’t Thought About KG Honey Nut Cheerios Comment
Before the Manti Te’o fake girlfriend scandal broke last week, the hot topic was Honey Nut Cheerios and the Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett on-court turned off-court altercation.
The two are scheduled to meet again in Boston tomorrow night and Anthony, who says he’s no longer concerned about the Cheerio debacle, does want to return the favor by winning.
“I just want to win. Do whatever it takes to win. Thursday’s definitely a big game for myself and us as a team to get us on the right track. We want to win,’’ Anthony said. “Do we owe them? Yes, they came here and beat us. We want to go there and return the favor on their court. We can’t get that game back.”
Asked if the Garnett tiff is over, Anthony said, “Oh yeah. Honestly, it’s not even on my mind right now. It hasn’t been on my mind since that day. It will be fun,’’ Anthony said. “It will be a hostile environment. I’m expecting that. It’ll be a fun game. Knowing what’s at stake, us playing Boston. As far as anything being left over, it’s a new game.’’
I don’t blame Anthony for wanting to move on. The alleged Garnett zinger was a classic. The only way to bounce back from that is by winning.
I’m sure “The Eyes”, better known as David Stern, will be watching this one and we can expect Kevin Garnett will be on his best behavior.Powered by Sidelines
