New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has had a rough week. He almost came to blows with Celtics forward Kevin Garnett during and after the ball game.
Then reports came out that Garnett told Anthony that his wife LaLa, tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios. Anthony in the past few days revealed that he’s been fasting the past few weeks to gain clarity in his life.
Now we understand why he was so pissed off. With his fast over, Melo can now eat, and as he told the New York Daily News during an unveil for his Jordan Brand Melo 9’s yesterday, Anthony jokingly said “he will indeed have a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios.”
“I’m definitely going to get a bowl of that, for sure,” a mellow Melo said at the launch of his new signature sneaker, Air Jordan Melo M9, at Cipriani on Wall St.
Anthony still would reveal what Garnett actually said to him during that fateful night, but he was in good spirits yesterday.
He also had words for Celtics coach Doc Rivers who took up for Garnett, and call Melo crazy for going after his star forward.
“I don’t (know) what I’m crazy about,” Anthony said Sunday. “I haven’t talked to him. I didn’t know Doc was out there on the court with (Garnett).”
“Like I said, whatever was said was said out there on the court,” Anthony said. “It happened. He said it. We handled it like we’re supposed to handle it. We talked. We move on.”
Carmelo also spoke about the rumored seperation between himself and his wife LaLa, and said things were fine.
“We have our time. We have our down time,” he said. “She works. I work. We make it work. Communication is the key.”
