Charles Woodson Says The Vikings Are All About Stopping One Guy
The Green Bay Packers finally got it right against Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings. The prior two games, Peterson had rushed for what seemed like 500 yards a game against the Packers.
Peterson ran off 199 last Sunday when he almost broke Eric Dickerson’s single season rushing record. The Packers got Clay Matthews and most importantly Charles Woodson back yesterday, and it showed.
Woodson was asked about what made the difference, and he was candid in telling ESPN Wisconsin that “the goal was to Peterson, because as Woodson put it, the Vikings are all about one guy.”
“No disrespect to Ponder, but bringing a guy into the box is not about Christian Ponder, it’s about one guy and that’s Adrian Peterson,” Woodson told ESPNWisconsin.com’s Jason Wilde. “Our main focus, we knew whether it was Ponder or Webb, was to keep 28 from getting off. And if we were going to keep him from getting off, put the ball in the quarterback’s hands, whatever quarterback it was, we felt good about what was going to happen.”
Hopefully last night allowed all those Vikings fan who swear they want to replace Ponder to take a double-check and appreciate the young quarterback you have.
