Donald Driver of Green Bay Packers Announces his Retirement
With Greg Jennings already scheduled to be a free agent, the receiving core for the Packers just got a little thinner.
Packers receiver Donald Driver announced Thursday morning that he was ready to call it quits and retire as a member of his long-time team. The team announced the news Thursday morning with Driver releasing the following statement.
“I played my entire career in Green Bay and have always enjoyed a special bond with the fans,” Driver said in the team’s release. “I can think of no better way to retire than to celebrate with them and the Packers organization.”
Driver will finish his career with 743 catches for 10,137 yards and 61 touchdowns. Originally being taken in the 7th round, that’s not bad at all.
The team also announced that a ceremony will be held for the 38 year old sometimes next week.
