bso john rocker holocaust gun comments

No stranger to controversy and idiotic statements, former MLB relief pitcher John Rocker has made headlines again with his views on guns and how they tie in with the Holocaust.

Rocker wrote a column for conservative news website WorldNetDaily in which he wrote the following;

Absolute certainties are a rare thing in this life, but one I think can be collectively agreed upon is the undeniable fact that the Holocaust would have never taken place had the Jewish citizenry of Hitler’s Germany had the right to bear arms and defended themselves with those arms.”

Unfortunately he wasn’t done Rocker felt the need to bring up the tragedy at Sandy Hook

… the one issue few members of the GOP, even fewer conservative pundits and, worse, even the National Rifle Association fail to realize is the pressing matter of our age: President Barack Obama’s decision to use the political capital garnered from the Sandy Hook tragedy to make an all-out assault on gun ownership.

Rocker has been a pariah in the world of sports following his racially charged and homophobic rant in 1999 on his thoughts of New York City

I would retire first. It’s the most hectic, nerve-racking city. Imagine having to take the 7 train to the ballpark, looking like you’re (riding through) Beirut next to some kid with purple hair next to some queer with AIDS right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids. It’s depressing.

Rocker has bounced around in virtual anonymity following his departure from baseball. Sadly, he felt his presence had to again be felt so he chimed in with above troubling commentary.

Sometimes all you can do is shake your head.

First off, he isnt far off base here. Despite his past comments, he is right. Sorry that the truth bothers you, but how do you shake your head at that? Had they have been armed, they damn well could have tried to defend themselves. Sadly, they were not armed and due to tyranny, could not own guns.

Every citizen in this world should be able to protect themselves, not just from intruders, but tyranny. Learn some history before you start mocking someone.

By the way, you could try putting a professional type pic of yourself instead of one you took with your iphone and use on some dating site.

Ashley….stick to giggling as you answer lame Yankee questions while on WFAN.
Last I checked a man/person is entitled to an opinion and just because Rocker was a bit stupid over a decade ago should not render his opinion foolish.
Now go take your boss to see Django and the both of you can salivate over shooting white people because we all know if a black athlete was to say that guns would have helped slaves defend themselves against slave-owners you and other blacks would applaud loudly.

Good point about slaves if theyd been armed Noel. Clearly, I guess we should expect her type of ignorance on a site named BLACKsportsonline. Some people use their race to shape their view point of everything, no matter what is right or wrong.
Rocker has indeed said some stupid things in his past, but he is right on with what he said here. I dont see how she and others can even try to dispute that.

Ashley may want to learn what pretentious actually means. Unless you really feel that way about yourself, and id say I have to agree. You are pretentious

a : making usually unjustified or excessive claims (as of value or standing)
b : expressive of affected, unwarranted, or exaggerated importance, worth, or stature

And gangsta? Really. Please. Time to grow up a bit huh?
