When LeBron left the Cleveland Cavaliers a few years ago, many could safely assume the relationship was forever severed between the player and the city/team.
Owner Dan Gilbert went on a rant bashing LeBron for quitting on the Cavs and saying they would win a ring before “the self proclaimed king” ever did in Miami. Couple years down the road and Gilbert turned out to be wrong as the Big 3 finally secured their coveted championship ring this past summer.
Although the chances are extremely remote, LeBron left the door open on a return when admitting that he handled “The Decision” poorly.
If you ask one NBA head coach, he thinks LeBron could end up back where he started.
Per FOX Sports Florida’s Chris Tomasson:
“I think LeBron is at that stage where he’s challenging himself to motivate him to do something that’s maybe more difficult,” Karl said. “I could see him maybe doing that (returning to the Cavaliers).
“I see (Kyrie) Irving maybe being a reason for that.”
Whether or not you agree with Karl, it will be some time before his words could even have the chance to come true.
LeBron isn’t a possible free agent until 2014, and we’ll have to see what happened with the Heat in the previous seasons. If they’re in the middle of a dynasty, you can expect LeBron to stay settled on South Beach.
