Former Philadelphia Eagles middle linebacker Jeremiah Trotter must still hold some ill will from the time Reid released him, because Trotter lit into Reid yesterday and his big game coaching ability via 97.5 The Fan.
The Star-Ledger reports that Trotter loves Reid as a person, but is not to fond of him as a coach.
“I thought he was a great coach, but I do believe if both teams were even talent wise, I think the opponents team would win if it came down to coaching,” Trotter said. “Andy Reid got out coached in a lot of games. A lot of big games.”
Trotter then chimed in oh Reid’s game management skills.
“As a defense, we understood we passed the ball too much,” Trotter said. “There would be times we would sit on the sideline and say ‘Man, just get us a couple first downs so we can get a break.’ It frustrated Jim Johnson also.”
“We knew if it came down to two minutes and we needed to score, we were up the creek,” Trotter said.
“On a scale of 1-10 where 10 is great, he is about a 7 or 8,” Trotter said before saying Bill Belichick is a 10. “I’m best friends with someone who played for Belichick in New England and won Super Bowls. He told me ‘When he (Belichick) tells you what to do, you do it because you knew it would work.”
I guess that two years with the Redskins really pissed trotter off.
