Yesterday we reported that Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was refusing to cooperate or talk to police after his brother was stabbed Saturday night, and he was believed to have been in the area of a shooting hours after that.
According to Pro Football Talk, police believed Britt had dropped his brother off at a Bayonne, New Jersey hospital after he was stabbed.
Hours later Britt was reported to have been near a shooting. Britt’s spokesman now refutes those claims, says it was a friend, and offered his own explanation via the Jersey Journal.
“Kenny was leaving a dinner cooked by his friends’ parents when he found his friend, who had left earlier, injured outside,” the statement provided to the Jersey Journal said. “Kenny immediately brought his friend to the hospital and was there with the injured friend’s family for several hours, but was not otherwise involved in the incident. It was not a house party, Kenny’s brother was not injured (and wasn’t even there) and Kenny has made himself available to cooperate with the authorities investigation of this matter.”
Britt at some point has to grow up. I’m able to count 7 or 8 different run ins with the law since Britt has entered the NFL, and that’s totally unacceptable.
