The Jets mess of 2012 is now over. The GM has been fired, roster moves will be made, and Rex Ryan has taken a vacation to the Bahamas real quick.
Ryan will return Tuesday for a press conference to address his future, who will be the GM and what the solution is to getting the Jets back on track.
According to the Star-Ledger, former Jet and Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson thinks Rex Ryan could be and should be apart of the solution.
Tomlinson made the comments on Sirius XM Radio.
“I think he’s part of the solution, I really do,” Tomlinson said on Sirius XM this morning. “Because there are certain qualities that you have to have as a head coach in order to lead a football team and I just believe, being in that locker room, being around Rex Ryan, hearing him talk, hearing the things he talks about, the game planning, I just believe he’s the right guy. He understands how to motivate men in the National Football League. And that’s what it ultimately comes down to. Preparing guys is one thing and he does a great job, obviously, preparing guys but at the end of the day you have to be able to motivate these men that make a lot of money. And Rex Ryan can do that.”
I agree with LT, if Rex can bounce back from this humbling experience, cut the side-show and focus on football, the Jets can be formidable.
