To add insult to injury the already struggling Los Angeles will lose Forward/Center Jordan Hill for the remainder of the season. It was announced that Hill is exected to undergo season-ending surgery to repair loose fragments and a possible labral tear in his left hip.
The severity of this injury was diagnosed Friday. Hill is expected to seek a second opinion to avoid surgery but all signs point to him missing the remainder of the season. Hill was averaging close to 16 minutes a game with 6.7 points and 5.7 rebounds a game off the Bench for the Lakers, and with injuries to Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol the Lakers frontcourt will be pretty thin.
Hill is a grinder. He fights for offensive rebounds and loose balls, and was their energy guy off the bench. Lakers are struggling trying to fight to make it to the playoffs and loosing a reserve bigman for the remainder of the year will be huge down the stretch.
