Michael Phelps Credits Ray Lewis For His Decision to Compete in 2012 Olympics

Deadspin reported the wonderfully random source of inspiration Michael Phelps had when deciding whether or not to compete in the 2012 Olympics.

Phelps was in attendance at last night’s AFC Championship game, and afterwards told Yahoo Sports that (reverend) Ray Lewis was his inspiration for competing in the 2012 London Olympics. Phelps revealed the following:

 A lot of people don’t know this, but he was one of the biggest reasons why I came back for four more years. Just some of the things that we have talked about, and he’s helped me get through, I can’t be more happier.
