Nick Saban: I have No Interest in the NFL

by Phillip Jackson | Posted on Sunday, January 6th, 2013

Well, I guess this ends all the speculation.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban has been preparing his team for their national title game against Notre Dame this Monday. With such a big game on the horizon, one could understand how focused Saban has to be to have his team perform at their optimum level. Perhaps that is why Saban seemed a little irritated when asked about the possibility of him leaving the school to go back to the NFL.

Per George Schroeder of USA Today: “I don’t have any unfinished business in the NFL,” said Saban.

It’s not something I’m concerned about. It’s not even anything I want to do.”

Perhaps a little bad timing, but can you really blame reporters for asking?

Remember, when Saban coached the Dolphins he made it clear he would not leave to go coach Alabama. We see how that turned out, so he might need to be a little understanding as to why we’re slow to take him at his word.
