Lakers’ starting forward Pau Gasol has missed five games from a concussion he suffered on January 6th.
ESPN reports that Gasol will play in tonight’s game vs the Heat and has practiced today. Earl Clark will start in Gasol’s place as Gasol will come off the bench. Coach D’antoni said the decision was a mix between conditioning concerns, and also matchup reasons vs the Heat. Gasol has said the following:
“I’m feeling well…I’m feeling even better than (Wednesday) so it’s good signs. We’re on a good path and I’m clear to practice, clear to play.”
Gasol has had ample time to rest, after nursing injuries for the majority of the season so this should come as a bonus for the Lakers who are slowly coming out of their funk.
