As we reported yesterday former Eagles head coach Andy Reid is a leading candidate for the Arizona Cardinals job and will interview with them Wednesday or Thursday.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com is reporting per sources, that part of Reid’s selling point to the Cardinals will be that he can fix quarterback Kevin Kolb and whatever issues ail him.
If you remember Reid drafted Kolb out of Houston in the 2nd round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Reid would ultimately go on to groom and nurture Kolb into a pretty decent quarterback for him in Philadelphia.
After signing Michael Vick, and eventually having him take Kolb’s spot, Reid traded Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals, who then inked Kolb to a six-year, $63.5 million contract in July 2011.
Rapoport is reporting that the Cardinals would like to keep Kolb, and that he’s due a $2.9 million roster bonus on top of the $9 million salary for 2013.
If there’s anyone who can quote on quote fix Kolb, and get the best out of him, it’s Reid.
