NFC Title Game Stabbing Atlanta

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that police have arrested a 46-year old man in connection with Sunday’s stabbing near the Georgia Dome after the NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Atlanta Falcons.

Despite earlier reports to the contrary, a Georgia Dome spokesman has informed the AJC that investigators believe that an argument over food at a tailgate, and not over the game’s outcome, was what led to the stabbing that has an unidentified 35-year old victim in stable condition at an Atlanta hospital.  The AJC also reports that neither the victim, nor the man who police have in custody attended Sunday’s game.

We brought you the initial report on this incident on Sunday not long after the incident is alleged to have occurred.  Whether or not this unfortunate event was the result of trash-talking going wrong, the lesson to be learned from it can still be summed up with a quote from ESPN’s Colin Cowherd:  “Love your life, like your sports”.
