We all knew that the Southern Cal football season was a total failure and there were problems in Trojan land, but I didn’t think it was this bad.
The Big Lead via Heather Brittany, a USC alum and law student, is reporting that moments after the Trojans embarrassing Sun Bowl loss to Georgia Tech, several USC players took their frustrations out on each other.
Heather Brittany reports that TJ McDonald and Tony Burnett got into with each other, which then turned into a full on brawl between teammates.
McDonald disputed those claims later, and called it a baseless rumor. The L.A. Daily News got involved in reporting the story and here’s there take.
Moments after the loss, 10-15 players were involved in an altercation. It reportedly started when younger guys on the team questioned whether or not Seniors had basically quit on the team before and during that game.
A player who did not wish to be identified reportedly said it was one of the worst things he’s ever seen in a locker room.
If this is true Lane Kiffin needs a miracle to happen next season to keep his job. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a team ranked preseason #1, yet alone ranked that high basically implode under the pressure of success.
That is one entitled group and if they don’t regain there hunger, the program will fall apart.
