SNL Manti Te'o and Lance Armstrong Spoof

The two biggest sport stories of the week are getting a lot of attention, but it wouldn’t be right to get this much national coverage without being spoofed by Saturday Night Live.  Last night was no exception as SNL poked fun at Te’o and Lance Armstrong during the cold open.

During the spoofed Piers Morgan episode, Morgan (Taran Killam) interviews a bitter and unsympathetic Lance Armstrong (Jason Sudeskis).

“All I actually did is steroids, testosterone, human growth hormone, EPO and I replaced all of my blood with better blood. Is that sophisticated? I don’t know. Is it cheating? Maybe. Am I sorry I did it? Yes…ish. P.S. No.”

Now if only Armstrong was that forthcoming in the beginning think about the trouble not to mention the time it would have saved America. Sorry Oprah, but that was the driest two hours of my life.

After speaking with Armstrong, Morgan then shifts his attention to Te’o (Bobby Moynihan). The wide-eyed, droopy jaw and confused Te’o was a mixture of things. He seemed to be hilarious, confused, and focused all at the same time, while trying to give his best story of his fictional girl, who he thinks is still alive.

“It is, but it’s even more devastating for my girlfriend, Lanay… A couple months ago she called me up and was like, ‘hey, I have bad news, I’m dead.”

I’m certain Manti Te’o wishes America would move on to something new besides focusing on him. He has been the butt to every joke all over the world.  However until the truth comes out or someone else does something as bizarre, Te’o will continue to take a public beating.
