Carmelo Anthony may have a little more muscle to flex the next time his Knicks square off against Kevin Garnett’s Celtics. Per RealGM.com (via Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports), the Knicks have expressed interest in free-agent forward Kenyon Martin, who most recently played with the Clippers. Martin is reportedly open to signing a 10-day contract with the Knicks while the team waits for Rasheed Wallace to recover from his foot injury (big surprise, a 38 year-old forward who came out of retirement is struggling with a nagging injury).
Martin’s name was linked to the Knicks earlier this season, and he played with Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith in Denver. I wouldn’t be surprised if Martin stayed with the Knicks longer than ten days if they decide to sign him.
