Unless you have been under a rock for the last decade, everyone knows that the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens have one of the best rivalries in football. Because they play in the same division, fans are treated to those hard fought battles between the team at least twice a year.
Seeing as how the Ravens made it to the Super Bowl this year, one would probably assume that the Steelers don’t want their rivals to win it all. If you ask one Steeler though, that couldn’t be further from the truth. While doing an interview with NBC’s Michelle Tafoya, center Maurkice Pouncey offered these thoughts.
“I know it’s going to sound crazy, but I’m pulling for Ray Lewis,” Pouncey admitted. “He’s from my hometown, and for him to go out on top would be a great look for our city.”
“I know a lot of people aren’t going to like it, but I think it’s more of a hometown thing. For him to go out on top would be memorable.”
For the record, Maurkice is from Lakeland, Florida. The same city where Ray Lewis played high school football. So I guess I can see where he is coming from.
Not sure Steelers fans will be as understanding though.
