The Phoenix Suns are mired in a downward spiral this season and decided to make a change at coach by firing Alvin Gentry two days ago.
Yahoo Sports is reporting the Suns have named former NBA point guard Lindsey Hunter as the teams interim coach. Hunter spent 17 seasons in the NBA before taking a player development role with the Pistons in 2010.
Hunter moved on to the Suns last season where he became the Suns director of player development. The 40-year-old Hunter has no prior coaching experience.
The Suns have a 13-28 record, worst in the Western Conference.
