USA Today has confirmed that 49ers Chris Culliver will report to sensitivity classes after his infamous gay rant.
Culliver will begin working with ‘The Trevor Project’, an organization that specializes in dealing with crisis and suicide intervention in the gay, lesbian and transgender community. Culliver’s PR rep Theodore Palmer issued the following statement
“It’s just an opportunity for him to learn about his comments and educate himself about the LGBT community, and grow,”
“It’s the first step in learning about his words.”
This of course follows the wave of backlash both Culliver and the entire team has faced since Culliver admitted in-depth that he would in no way be accepting of a gay teammate. Culliver will begin classes following the Super Bowl, and will also volunteer at San Francisco crisis centers.
Do you think Culliver’s heart has been changed for good, or is this just his attempt to get back in the media’s good graces?
