The UFC has placed an emphasis on “Super fights” this year and none would be bigger than Anderson Silva vs Jon “Bones” Jones.
In a radio interview with Chicago’s The Waddle & Silvy Show Dana White has confirmed that huge fights are on the horizon for Silva.
White had this to say about Silva:
“Anderson Silva is on the verge of signing a new big deal with us, and he wants big fights. That’s what he wants.”
Waddle & Silvy asked Dana about the possibility of Silva fighting not only Jones but also GSP in the future:
“The great thing about it is, Anderson Silva is the greatest fighter ever in mixed martial arts.” “He’s 185 pounds, and he lands right in the middle of Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones, so he can fight both of those guys.”
Dana has yet to disappoint with a guarantee and the 38 year old Spider Silva looks to have an exciting path set up for his farewell tour through the UFC. According to Yardbarker Silva spoke to Portuguese website SporTV.globo.com and expressed the feeling that this fight will happen before the end of 2013. Silva, whom fights predominantly in Brazil, said that he is open to the fight being held in New York City. The assumed venue for the fight would be Madison Square Garden but I’m sure the Barclays Center will put in a bid for the biggest fight in MMA history.
