Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson was the NFL rushing king a few seasons ago. Johnson rushed for 2,006 yards in 2009, and people talking about him as the best back in the game.
Johnson has fallen off a little since then, and even though most of that can be attributed to his offensive line woes, it still causes his numbers to be inconsistent.
Johnson watched Vikings running back Adrian Peterson come up nine yards short of Eric Dickerson’s singles season rushing record of 2,105 yards last season, and thinks he can break the record himself. Johnson was on NFL Network yesterday, and according to Pro Football Talk, feels he can topple the record.
“Every running back’s goal is to break that record,” Johnson said. “You want to break the 2,105. I believe I can do it.”
