As you know now, Oscar Pistorius has been charged with murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. As details start to come in about Pistorius past, a history of questionable incidents that weren’t talked about during the Olympics, are starting to form.
In February 2009, he crashed a speedboat he was piloting on South Africa’s Vaal River after drinking heavily. In November of 2012, Pistorius and a millionaire coal worker got into over a woman, but they eventually settled it before police became heavily involved.
Pistorius was a gun enthusiast who tweeted about his shooting skill.
“Had a 96% headshot over 300m from 50shots! Bam!” he tweeted.
According to TMZ, in 2009 he was arrested and spent 24 hours in jail for assaulting a female friend. The friend decided not to press charges.
None of this means he is guilty, but it does show that you never know who these athletes are behind the scenes, so don’t ever be surprised.
