Dr. James Andrews is one of the most renowned surgeons in the sports world today. He currently serves as the Washington Redskins team doctor, a position spotlighted because of the ACL injury to the team’s star quarterback Robert Griffin III.
After having surgery on the ACL, Griffin appears to be ahead of schedule in his rehab. At least, if you ask Dr. James Andrews.
“We’ve got him well on his way,” Andrews told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
“He is an unbelievable athlete as you well know. His recovery is way ahead of schedule so far. We don’t have to do much but try to hold him back, if you want to know the truth. Our whole mode for him, though, is to do what is best for his career, not necessarily what is best for the first game next season. So all of that has to be put on hold and let him get well.”
Happy to hear that RG3 is doing well post-surgery. The young signal caller has an extremely bright future once he gets completely healthy.
And with a targeted goal of being ready for Week 1 of the 2013 NFL season, he may not even miss a game for this typically devastating injury.
