Jacoby Jones had an MVP worthy night during the Super Bowl, and his 108 yard kick off return benifitted more than just his team.
According to the Baltimore Sun, Gardiners Furniture, a Baltimore based company offered customers a great deal saying if a kick return happened at the start of the game, or just after halftime, all furniture bought between Jan. 31 and 3 p.m. on game day would be free.
Jones returned the kick of course, and anybody with a receipt from the store was ecstatic.
“That was amazing!” the store posted on its Facebook page shortly after the Jones touchdown. “Furniture is FREE! If you made a purchase this weekend, it’s your lucky day. Go Ravens!”
Kasee Lehrl, the store’s advertising and marketingmanager, said Sunday night that she couldn’t believe it when she saw Jones booking down the field and into the end zone.
“We’re obviously thrilled,” she said. “So exciting.”
This is reportedly the third year that the store ran such an ad promotion. Being as though such a return hasn’t happened in over 50 years, they obviously thought they were in the clear.
