Taco Bell Skills ChallengeFor a good several weeks Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin was on pace to have the most All Star votes  for Western Conference point guards.

We almost had a scenario, where Lin would have started the NBA All Star game over the likes of Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, and Tony Parker.

That didn’t happen of course, Lin didn’t even make the All Star team.  Lin for his part wanted no such controversy to ensue, and told CSNHouston that he’s “thankful he wasn’t voted a starter.”

I’m kind of thankful I didn’t get voted because when … I want to make sure I’m fully, fully deserving of it, when I play,” Lin said after the team’s evening practice on Monday. “And I didn’t feel like that was the case this year.”

“I’m not really any more motivated to make it to the All-Star Game to be honest,” he answered. “I’m happy for James (Harden, the Rockets representative9 but for a player, I don’t think that’s anybody’s motivation.”

Good answer Jeremy, that would have been a rough weekend for Jeremy Lin and the system in place to choose the All Star team.
