This could be bad news for Kentucky…
Kentucky freshman phenom Nerlens Noel had to be helped off the court after injuring his left knee during tonight’s loss against 7th ranked Florida.
Noel, who is averaging 10.6 pts, 9.6 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks a game, left the game after landing awkwardly on his knee with 8 minutes left to play.
The potential loss of Noel would be devastating for a Kentucky team that finally seemed to gain its footing after a disappointing start to the season, and any run at making and during the NCAA tournament could be thwarted.
The potential long-term effects of a bad knee injury to Noel also begs the question of the necessity of players who are clearly of NBA talent risking injury to play the required one year of college ball.
As for now, until a official announcement is made, that question will be put on hold as we wish for the best for Noel.
