Knicks star forward has known LeBron James a long time, so he is just as impressed with the streak that LeBron James has been as anyone else is.
James has scored 30 points and shot better than 70 percent overall in six straight games. It’s getting LeBron mentioned in the same breath with Jordan, and that’s all good, but Melo told the New York Post, slow down with the MVP talk, don’t crown James just yet.
“It’s early,” said Anthony…. “It’s All-Star break right now. He’s definitely playing like a Most Valuable Player so we’ll see what happens…
“That’s crazy. What he’s doing right now is unbelievable. He’s scoring 30, 40 points on 11 shots, [shooting] 10-for-12. He’s on an incredible run right now,” Anthony said. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”
I think Anthony would need an incredible second half to not only catch LeBron in the MVP race, but to overtake Kevin Durant and possibly Chris Paul.
It definitely will be a tight race.
