Pastor Says Tebow “Wimp Out” of Church Appearance & Didn’t Act Like a Man
Tim Tebow made a business decision when he decided not to speak at the First Baptist Church in Dallas. The main pastor Dr. Robert Jeffress is a controversial figure who has said some disturbing remarks about gays and President Obama (a lot more stuff).
It wasn’t going to be a good look for Tebow and he realized that, so he pulled out of the event. If he was having any doubts about that decision, these quotes from Dr. Jeffress should put his mind at ease.
“I am grateful for men of God like these who are willing to stand up and act like men rather than wimping out when it gets a little controversial and an inconvenient thing to stand for the truth,” Jeffress said. “God bless men like that.”
“There are some people who would say ‘God’s given me a different ministry. God has called me to go preach about the love of God. I’m not called to preach about sin and controversial things. I’ve been called to preach about the love of God. And they’re sincere when they say that. But they are sincerely wrong. The fact is you cannot talk about the love of God. The love of God has no meaning whatsoever unless you understand the judgment of God that all of us deserve.”
Basically, he called Tebow a punk, even though he didn’t mention him by name. What this let’s you know is the only reason he wanted Tebow there was for publicly and to put more money in his pocket.
If that is the Pastor you choose to follow, more power to you, but I can spot a con artist from a mile away and he is definitely one.Powered by Sidelines
