Terrible news, coming out of Texas. Thoughts and prayers are with the young man’s family and friends.

A Pearland high school student collapsed while on a basketball court Wednesday afternoon, and later died.

The Pearland Independent School District says the Dawson High School student was playing basketball with friends after school on at the Silverlake Elementary School campus playground in Pearland when he collapsed.

He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital via ambulance. The district was later notified of his death.
