The Green Bay Packers expect to make quarterback Aaron Rodgers the highest paid player in NFL history any day now, but the two sides are reportedly still a few dollars apart from making the deal official.
How close are the two parties on finalizing a deal, well according to NFL.com, Rodgers and the Packers are about $2 million a year apart on a new contract.
The Packers current contract offer is reportedly slightly more than $21 million per year according to sources. Rodgers will more than likely average more per season than the $20.6 million per year the Baltimore Ravens recently agreed to pay Joe Flacco.
The two sides are also trying to figure out how much Rodgers will make in the first two years of the deal. Rodgers current deal which expires in 2014 would pay him $9.875 million over the next two years, which would make the consensus #1 quarterback in the game severely underpaid.
