Bo Jackson is one of the greatest athletes of our time. Famous for his “Bo Knows” commercials, one thing Jackson knows is what it takes to return from severe injury.
Jackson made an amazing comeback in 1993 from hip-replacement surgery, after being hurt with the Oakland Raiders. Jackson says he doesn’t watch much sports these days, but is aware of Derrick Rose and his battle to return from ACL surgery.
Jackson has a message for Rose, and according to ESPN’s Chicago Bulls Report, its simply “don’t try to be superman.”
“Derrick Rose or any athlete will get back on the playing field or on the court when he knows that he is ready,” Jackson said Thursday. “I would say don’t try to be Superman and try to please the public. Take your time, heal, come back and do what you have to because if something goes out again, guess what …”
“The public is still going to be out there wanting more and more and more,” he said. “Take care of yourself first. Take care of your family and then worry about what else is out there.
Listen to him Derrick, because Bo Knows severe injury.
