Brandon Jacobs Goes on Twitter Rant About the new Helmet Rule

Add Brandon Jacobs to the growing list of running backs who are unhappy about the new helmet rule that was passed by the NFL on Wednesday. The rule forbids players from lowering the crown of their helmet into approaching defenders.

Jacobs, who barely played for the San Francisco 49ers last season and is now an unrestricted free agent, went on a twitter rant last night to reveal his anger according to ESPN New York.

“How the f— can we protect ourselves,” Jacobs tweeted. “They ought to make a rule saying they cant hit us in our legs while we are ingaged with a defender.”

Jacobs, wasn’t done there either.

Players can complain but it’s not going to make a difference, just like it didn’t make a difference when defensive players were livid after the NFL introduced the new hitting rules. It’s the offensive players turn to adjust the best they can and avoid those hefty fines.

  • Roger Goodell and the owners are ruining the game. If this keeps up, in ten years the NFL will be back to being the third most popular sport in the country.
