Doug Martin is the future of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers running game, and one of the top young backs in the NFL.  Just because you have a great running back on your roster, doesn’t mean you can’t have depth.

USA Today is reporting that the Bucs have re-signed running back LeGarrette Blount.

Per NFL Players Association records, Blount received a base salary of $1.25 million as well as $500,000 in other compensation this offseason via a $350,000 reporting bonus and a $150,000 workout bonus.

Blount was slated to be a restricted free agent on Tuesday.
