TMZ.com caught up with Invicta Women’s MMA fighter Cris “Cyborg” Santos and she had this to say about UFC Champion Ronda Rousey:
“Fraud? I’m not the one that hides behind a weight class that she knows I can’t make.”
That in response to Rousey saying that she was a “Fraud” because of her failed drug test in 2011. Santos’ response stems from Rousey’s refusal to move up in weight to fight at 140lbs or 145 lbs. The UFC currently only has 1 Women’s weight class, so the bout would be a non-title fight.
Santos’ passion was clear in these follow up statements to TMZ:
“Meet me at 140 lbs” … adding, “Then ask her if I’m a fraud after I knock her ass out!”
“Obviously she knows that she can’t compete with me – take the time, maybe [Ronda] will get good enough and gain some confidence.”
Cyborg Santos is scheduled to fight in an Invicta event on April 5th. That would put any match up with Rousey off until at least late-August or Early-September.
One thing is clear, Santos isn’t lacking any confidence in her ability or her position in the world of MMA.
“Until then … I am the best and do not want to talk about hypotheticals. I fight in Invicta and I’m proud to be helping save women’s MMA!” – Santos
