Deion Sanders Says He Wants Pilar Sanders to Relinquish His Last Name
It isn’t uncommon for women who get divorce from famous men to keep their last name. The woman Deion is currently dating is Tracey Edmonds, that is her ex-husband’s Babyface last name.
In a wide ranging interview with Sandra Rose, Deion tries to clear the air on a lot of the drama that has been going on between him and Pilar, as their divorce goes through the final stages.
“Who gets their marriage annulled after 14 years,” he said.
“The pre-nup is what it is,” said Deion. “Unfortunately, our pre-nup is a million dollars, and she ran up $1.4 million in attorney’s fees. You can do the math.”
“I’ve always had custody of the children,” he added. “My kids are happy. This is the life they know. My kids know being with me all the time. This is why I was awarded [custody],” he said.
“Every comment or quote you see [in the media] is going to be from their side; slandering us; trying to publicly humiliate us because that was their strategy, that we be humiliated and settle out of court,” said Sanders.
“I took care of business 14 years ago before we walked down the aisle,” he said referring to the iron-clad pre-nup.
“The truth of the matter is, when you have to take care of business before you walk down the aisle, you know something will go down eventually. That’s the truth of the matter. And then when a person asks for $100,000 before you get married, you gotta know what time it is. But you stupid enough, young and dumb and do it anyway.
“If I’m such a horrific and horrible guy, please relinquish my name,” he said. “Release my name.”
I am sure Pilar will have some sort of response to this and the wheels on the bus will go round and round. These are two adults and this whole situation could have been handle better by both parties, to be frank.
It is over now (or it should be over), so hopefully at some they can be cordial with each other, for their kids sake.
