Demarcus Cousin’s maturity issues reared its ugly head in yesterday’s King’s loss to the Nuggets.
As reported by Complex DeMarcus Cousins had the worst shooting performance of the year going just 1 of 12 from the field with 8 total point for the night.
Cousins was pulled at the beginning of the 4th quarter and while on the bench a fan shouted something at Cousins, who didn’t take it too well. The two got into a brief shouting match, with Cousins mouthing off freely to the fan near the bench. Afterwards Cousins remarked:
“He said some disrespectful things, and I had some things to say back. That was it.”
Cousins did not return in the game and Kings coach Keith Smart denied that the altercation with the fan had anything to do with it and said the following:
“It’s very important that we focus on playing good basketball instead of focusing on the fans,…They pay good, hard-earned money to come to a game to do or say whatever they might want to say.”
Hmmm, I’m going to guess that Cousins’ putrid shooting performance also played a role. The question of just when Cousins will decide to grow up remains an unanswered mystery.
